Labuschagne Omitted from Australia's One-Day International Squad to Face India
The Australian selectors have left out Labuschagne from Australia's three-game ODI series facing India, as in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a shock call-up.
Performance Issues Result in Exclusion
Labuschagne has been omitted from the ODI team following scoring just one run in both of his innings during the recent series against South Africa in August. Labuschagne has a best innings of forty-seven in his most recent ten ODI batting appearances.
The batsman has played 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 ODI runs at an average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now continue to press his claims a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Updates
Recent performances suggest of a improvement in form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw scored a century for the Bulls in the same game against Tasmania.
The left-hander may to make his first white-ball appearance in the upcoming series against India after last being included in an ODI squad in 2022.

Team Announcement Approach and Schedule
Australia have announced a squad for only the first two T20s against India with the upcoming Ashes series, although Glenn Maxwell will be absent for the five-match series due to a wrist problem suffered in New Zealand.
Mitch Marsh will lead both the ODI and T20 teams after scoring a hundred in the final game against New Zealand to clinch a two-nil victory last week.
“We have named a squad for the ODI series and first two games of the T20 series as there will be player management through the later stages of the series as players get ready for the cricket season through Sheffield Shield cricket,” selection chief George Bailey said.
“The majority of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an crucial phase in the preparation for the World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready specific players for the Test series ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India starts on 19 October in Perth, before the opponents play five T20s from October 29.
