Prince William Set to Attend COP30 Climate Summit in Brazil
Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil during November, as confirmed by the royal household.
The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a event preceding the environmental conference, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.
Father and son were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the UK government.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
King Charles has been a consistent supporter of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America preceding the COP summit.
Royal sources have described the Prince's participation at the upcoming climate summit as taking on an important role in "global climate discussions".
Previous Activities
The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted guests including environmentalists, researchers, environmental activists, diplomats and government officials.
This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of France and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco earlier this year.
Earthshot Awards Link
The COP30 summit will coincide with the prince's own climate innovation prizes, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the day before he participates in the COP summit on November 6th.
Recently the royal figure characterized the Earthshot finalists as "modern-day pioneers".
Royal Climate Legacy
The King has been a key figure at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".
"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to alert people to the survival risks confronting humanity over climate change, global temperature increases and ecological decline," the monarch informed attendees.
